I was thinking and thinking about doing a post on a frugal tip, I could not decide what the frugal tip would be. Then it struck me! The frugal tip is: use your talents to gift people in your life. For example, my sister in law is having a baby shower tomorrow. She and her husband are both employed in very good jobs, they have bought just about everything they need for the baby. So instead of buying yet another blue outfit, I offered to make the cake for her present. She was thrilled, I made their wedding cake, so she has confidence in me. I get to use my creative talents to bless her event. Win-Win situation for both of us.
And I could not post this tip with out a photo of said cake. By the way the nursery theme is penguins so I took that idea and ran with it. I had the most fun making this cake!!!
I know not everyone knows how to make cakes, but you have some talent that could help someone out. Maybe you are a knitter, knit someone a pair of mittens.

Gwen, this is such a great frugal tip! Just the idea of giving a gift that is different from the conventional baby outfit is a great idea.
BTW, I LOVE the cake! You did a great job incorporating the penguin theme. I’m sure the mother-to-be was thrilled with this one!

Elaine, The mother and father to be were thrilled! It was just a fun cake to do. I usually get all stressed out about making the cake look perfect but this one was not like that at all, it was fun. The baby got so many cute outfits but how many onesies does a baby truly need!?
